Objective: To review the CPD meeting on 8th February.
Agenda Items
1. Review previous minutes
JMC spoke to JAG about transition and development of this important area. To be followed up after EDT visit.
2. Discuss Questioning CPD activities for the upcoming CPD meeting on 28th March.
SCA - Explained hot seating activity:
Students work in groups and develop questions for the characters in the play or novel. (Could be used for historical figures as well)
SCA then modelled responses as a character e.g. Juliet, requires higher order thinking for some of the more difficult questions.
Students then take the hot seat and answer questions in character.
JMC - Explained, Always, Sometimes, Never:
Give students printed statements and then ask them to place the statements onto the display board under the relevant category.
Can be used to show progress as after input students may then change their answer.
Everyone - Invited to add ideas onto the Questioning Idea Google Doc
3. NGR to discuss outcomes of the meeting with BST regarding the EDT School Review Document and specific areas for development:a. Effective setting of Targets in KS4
b. Continue to stress diagnostic marking in all subjects
c. Further development of cross-curricular links
Most initiatives in these areas are to be undertaken by Heads of Faculty.
Discussed the possibility of exploring cross-curricular links. Suggest to SMT about setting aside a particular cross-curricular day.
Longer-term creating cross-department teams who focus on areas for integration. Each department could have a nominated person for this at each Key Stage. Potential to be done in preparation for next academic year.
4. T&L weekly suggestion and volunteers for coming weeks .

ASH - Extend book of the month to Year 5. JMC and ASH to collaborate on this.
ASH - Idiom of the Week - link to tutor time and competition between tutor groups to explain the origin.
