  • Location: B44

  • Apologies: SCA
Objective: To outline the expectations for the upcoming year for the GO Group.

Agenda Items

1. Volunteer teaching timetables for Peer Observation
Teachers who are willing to participate to send timetables to NGR to be uploaded onto the relevant section on the blog.

2. Discuss additional ideas for the blog
Tweak of the week to be adapted to a “Tweak of the Term”.
Some ideas could be, start lessons with an open ended question, no hands up to answer questions and teachers could comment underneath the tweak about their experiences and ideas that worked.

3. Coaching (FDO) providing a structured programme based on NUT guidelines
Emphasised by CfBT as a good PD strategy
Voluntary and can build on the current peer observation initiative
Collaborative learning with initial contact and observation followed up with continuous professional dialogue
20 minute discussion prior to the lesson to discuss targets which are et by the person being observed
Identification of good points and tweak suggested

4. Leadership Marketplace Teaching Activity Review
Additional ideas to improve the delivery of this resource:
To ensure all students get the correct notes ensure there are questions which frame the discussion.
Give students roles such as write, question master, researcher and team leader. Roles could be alternated if some students are not engaging with their role.

5. Class Dojo - rewards system.https://www.classdojo.com/en-GB/
Introduction of a possible to reward system which could be introduced school wide. NGR to speak to PPE about the potential for the system to be implemented at Traill. Volunteers sought to help implementation if it is agreed.

6. T&L weekly suggestion for coming weeks
Link topics to CfBT feedback from last visit

7. AOB
NGR demonstration of uploading lesson plans onto Admin+. Include all class lesson plans in one word document to reduce the number of uploads. This means that staff upload one word document for each class containing all of the lessons for that week which means it is one upload per class, rather than a separate word document for every lesson.
